What the error means:
- F03/05 indicates the Residual Current Monitoring Box (RCMB) has detected an insulation or leakage/ground fault condition.
Safe checks and corrective actions (qualified electrician/operator only):
- Visually inspect the RCMB module and its wiring for damage or loose/incorrect connections.
- Measure insulation resistance of the charging station cabling and installation. Follow the manual’s insulation test procedure: perform tests with supply disconnected, in 5‑wire mode, max test voltage 500 VDC, and observe polarity recommendations to avoid false readings. If energy meters/SPDs are present, isolate as instructed to avoid skewed results.
- If measurements are out of range or damage is found, replace the affected components (RCMB, cables, or related parts) and re‑test.
- If the issue appeared from first installation, suspect a defective RCMB module; if it developed later, investigate wiring faults or insulation degradation in the installation or vehicle cable.
Related protections and behavior:
- Vertica Pro can use the Enelion RCM B with an upstream RCD A to meet Type B protection requirements per IEC 61851-1; when the RCM B trips, relays open, charging stops, and an on‑screen warning with the error number is shown.
- To clear a trip after addressing the cause, unplug the vehicle connector to reset; if upstream protections tripped, re‑energize and repeat the start procedure.
Notes for functional testing:
- Type B residual current protection testing should be performed during an active charging state (State C) using an appropriate tester and EV simulator/adapter; confirm trip times and sensitivities per guidelines.
